Public description
SIDEWALK BLOCKING WILL OCCUR ALONG SOUTH SIDE OF ANN ST. FROM MEETING ST. TO TRANSIT ALLEY ON 11-13 TO 11/14, 2026. Due to the Food & Wine Classic Charleston grand tasting event that will be held at the Charleston Visitors Bureau located at 375 Meeting street, the People Inc. team in conjunction with Explore Charleston will look to place a full pedestrian closure of the south sidewalk of Ann St. from Meeting St. to Transit Alley. This closure is needed to ensure the safety of 2000 event attendees. The onsite security team will deploy Meridian anti-ramming barriers at either end of the closure as well as the appropriate sidewalk closure detour signage and portable metal barriers . This closure will be in conjunction with a full permitted street closure of Ann St. from Meeting St. to King St. During the closure pedestrians will be detoured to the opposite side of the street and sidewalk. All ADA ramps will be free and clear for ADA access. Security staff and CPD personnel will be present during the closure to assist.
